SurveyMonkey

SurveyMonkey delivery turns your AI-generated surveys into live, shareable research. When you publish a survey through SurveyMonkey, respondents answer on a professional survey platform, and the responses flow back into idea_builder so you can analyze them without leaving the app.

What it does

• Publishes surveys you create with the AI survey builder through SurveyMonkey, giving you a shareable link to send to respondents.
• Syncs responses back into idea_builder — click Sync responses in the Analyze tab to pull in the latest answers.
• Powers the survey analytics dashboard: total responses, completion rate, per-question distributions, NPS scores, and word clouds for open-ended answers.
• Exports your survey data to CSV at any time.

This appears in Validate → Surveys, in the Deliver tab (where you publish) and the Analyze tab (where results land).

Prerequisites

• Any plan. SurveyMonkey delivery is available to all users; your plan sets the monthly response allowance (Free: 10, Starter: 100, Pro: 1,000, Team: 5,000).
• No SurveyMonkey account needed. The connection to SurveyMonkey is maintained by the idea_builder team, so you can publish and collect responses without signing up for anything.

Connect

There is nothing to install or authorize on your side — the connection is already in place. To publish your first survey:

1. Open your idea and go to the Validate tab.
2. In Surveys, create a survey — use Generate and let the AI write the questions, or build it yourself.
3. Open the Deliver tab and select your survey from the list.
4. Choose the SurveyMonkey delivery card.
5. When publishing completes, copy the share link and send it to your respondents.

Note

There is also an internal shareable-link option if you prefer to collect responses through idea_builder itself. Both options feed the same analytics — you can publish the same survey through either delivery method.

Use it

• Send it out. Share the link by email, social media, or anywhere your audience is. Respondents answer on SurveyMonkey without needing an idea_builder account.
• Pull responses. In the Analyze tab, click Sync responses to bring the latest answers into idea_builder.
• Read the results. Review completion rate, per-question breakdowns, NPS-style scores, and word clouds for open-ended questions. Questions tagged with a product-market fit dimension feed your PMF score directly.
• Export. Click Export CSV to download the raw data for your own analysis.

Disconnect / troubleshoot

Because the connection is platform-managed, there is nothing for you to revoke. Common situations:

• Publishing fails. SurveyMonkey delivery is temporarily unavailable. Try again in a few minutes, or use the internal shareable-link delivery as a fallback — your survey content is never lost.
• Responses are missing. Click Sync responses to refresh. If new responses still do not appear, respondents may have abandoned mid-survey (empty submissions are skipped automatically).
• You hit your response allowance. Publishing still works, but new responses may be limited until your allowance resets next month — upgrade your plan for a larger allowance.
