Canvases & pitch deck
A canvas is a one-page framework that forces you to state how your business actually works. idea_builder keeps four of the most useful ones in one place and drafts them for you from the research you’ve already collected, so you’re never staring at a blank grid.
What you get
Section titled “What you get”| Tool | What it captures |
|---|---|
| Business Model Canvas | The full picture: customer segments, value proposition, channels, relationships, revenue streams, key resources, activities, partners, and cost structure. |
| Lean Canvas | A startup-focused variant that swaps in problems, solutions, key metrics, and unfair advantage — built for fast iteration. |
| Value Proposition Canvas | Zooms into the “fit” between what you offer and what your customers actually need, want, and feel. |
| Pitch Deck outline | A structured 10-slide narrative — problem, solution, market, traction, team, ask — ready for you to fill in. |
Generate a canvas from your research
Section titled “Generate a canvas from your research”- Open your idea and go to the Canvases section.
- Pick the canvas you want (Business Model Canvas, Lean Canvas, Value Proposition Canvas, or Pitch Deck outline).
- Click Generate. The AI reads your idea description and the research already attached to it — market sizing, competitor analysis, audience insights — and drafts every block of the canvas.
- Review the result. Anything the research doesn’t support will be flagged as an assumption, so you know what still needs validation.
Generated content appears in your chosen language, matching the rest of the platform.
Edit manually
Section titled “Edit manually”AI drafts are a starting point, not the final word. Click into any block and edit the text directly — the canvas saves as you work. Use them for:
- Refining the wording before you show it to a co-founder or advisor
- Adding numbers and specifics the research didn’t provide
- Cutting claims you can’t back up yet
Version history
Section titled “Version history”Every time you regenerate or substantially change a canvas, the previous version is kept. Open the Versions panel to:
- Compare two versions side by side
- Restore an earlier version if a change goes the wrong way
- See how your thinking evolved over time — useful before investor conversations
Export to PowerPoint
Section titled “Export to PowerPoint”When a canvas or deck outline is ready to be seen by other people, click Export PPTX to download a professionally formatted, editable PowerPoint file — one slide per canvas block (or per deck section). The export includes a title slide, your idea name, and the version number.
Use the export for:
- Sharing with co-founders, advisors, or an accelerator cohort
- Presenting in a meeting where you’ll want to make live edits
- Importing into Google Slides or Keynote — the file is standard PowerPoint
Each export can be regenerated anytime, so it always reflects your latest version.
